We are well into the fall and winter is fast approaching. It appears that the economy is trying its best to get going again in the United States and Canada.

I am pleased to announce that we have formed an association with Harold Merton, C.A. to provide value added services to our clients. For those of you who do not already use his services, in addition to preparing income tax returns and various trusts, he also has his US license and can provide information on US taxes for our clients that require this. I have attached a brief description of the services he and his firm offer as well as an article he wrote on trusts. Harold has been my accountant for several years doing my personal and corporate tax returns and also working with many of our clients. Just let us know if you're looking for a knowledgeable trustworthy chartered accountant.

Those who have mutual fund investments through us know that we have changed our dealer from Manulife Securities to Investment Planning Counsel. This does not affect your investments at all; it simply changes the company processing our back office transactions. Investment Planning Counsel is part of the Power Financial Group. This in no way changes our relationship with Manulife Financial or Manulife Investments. Online access to both your segregated and mutual fund holdings will now be available to all our clients.

On a different note, we are pleased to welcome Lynda Dumouchel our new receptionist and Dolores Arcaro our Marketing assistant for Mutual Funds. I am also delighted to announce that Corinne Laflamme recently started as my junior associate and will assist me in the servicing and selling of my clientele.
